At FINCH, privacy isn't just a feature—it's the foundation of everything we build. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data (spoiler: we don't collect much of it).

1. What Data We Collect

Financial Data (Stored Locally Only)

All your financial data—transactions, categories, budgets, tax information, and any attachments—is stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access to this data, and it is never transmitted to our servers. If you choose to enable Google Drive backup, your data goes directly to your own Google Drive—we never see it.

Advertising Data (Ad-Supported Version)

FINCH is currently ad-supported. Our advertising partners (Google AdMob) may collect certain data to serve ads. This data is collected directly by the ad network—not by us. We have no access to this data. We do not share your financial data with advertisers.

A paid ad-free version is coming soon for users who prefer no ads.

2. How We Use Your Data

We don't collect your data. Your financial data stays on your device. Ad networks collect their own data directly—we never see it and have no access to it.

We have no data to sell because we don't collect any.

3. Optional Google Drive Backup

If you choose to enable Google Drive backup, your encrypted financial data will be stored in your personal Google Drive account—not on our servers. This is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time.

When you enable this feature:

• ✓ Your data is encrypted before being uploaded to your Google Drive
• ✓ Only you can access your backup via your Google account
• ✓ We do not have access to your Google Drive or your backup data
• ✓ Your data goes directly from your device to your Google Drive—we never see it

4. Data Security

Your financial data is stored locally on your device with industry-standard encryption at rest. We recommend:

• ✓ Enabling device lock (PIN, fingerprint, or face unlock)
• ✓ Keeping your device's operating system up to date
• ✓ Using Google Drive backup to prevent data loss if your device is lost or damaged

5. Third-Party Services

FINCH integrates with the following third-party services:

• ✓ Google Drive API (optional, for backup)
• ✓ Google AdMob (for advertisements in the free version)

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• ✓ Delete all your data at any time (by uninstalling the app or clearing app data)
• ✓ Upgrade to the ad-free version (coming soon) to remove ads entirely
• ✓ Disable Google Drive backup at any time

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or our website. Continued use of FINCH after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
